Is pre workout bad for your liver?

I've started going to the gym seriously and some of my friends use pre-workout supplements. I'm considering trying one, but I'm a bit concerned about potential side effects. Is pre-workout bad for your liver, or are these just rumours?

Bro, don't stress too much about it. Pre-workouts are generally fine if you buy trusted brands and don't overdose on them. Just keep your hydration level high and avoid those cheap, uncertified powders.

Some cheap pre-workouts contain synthetic stimulants that can put stress on your liver and kidneys. If you are doing regular workouts, try a cup of black coffee instead, it is much safer. Always get a doctor's clearance before taking heavy supplements.

I tried pre-workout once and it made me feel so jittery and ruined my appetite for real food! I would much rather have a nice sweet potato or a banana slice before exercising. Your liver will thank you for real food instead of chemical powders.

These powder drinks are filled with too many chemicals that are hard for our organs to digest. I always tell young people to drink fresh beetroot juice or eat a few soaked almonds before exercising. Natural energy is always safest for the liver.

The problem isn't the pre-workout itself, it is the proprietary blends with hidden ingredients that damage the liver. If you must use one, choose third-party tested brands with clear ingredient lists. Otherwise, you are just playing with your health.

I had a liver scare last year because of abusing pre-workouts and fat burners. My SGOT/SGPT levels were sky-high. My advice is to get a liver function test (LFT) done every six months if you are using gym supplements, and never exceed the recommended scoop.

My college-going son wanted to buy these pre-workout tubs, but we consulted our family doctor first. The doctor warned that excessive caffeine and artificial additives in them can overload the liver. We decided it is best to stick to natural home energy foods.

I used pre-workout for two years and my liver enzymes actually shot up during a routine blood test. My doctor told me to stop immediately. I switched to black coffee and bananas, and my reports are totally normal now.

Hey, look, your liver has to process everything you consume, including synthetic supplements. Taking high doses of pre-workout daily can definitely put extra strain on it. Just be safe, stick to simple coffee, and don't overuse these gym supplements.

Honestly, so many guys in my hostel take pre-workout daily, but some cheap ones definitely feel super sketchy. I prefer sticking to simple glucose or coffee before hitting the gym. Better to keep it natural than risk liver issues.
