Is polyester ok for eczema?

My daughter has mild eczema, and I'm very particular about her clothes. I usually prefer cotton, but sometimes things are polyester blends. Is polyester okay for eczema, or should I stick to natural fabrics only?

No, polyester is generally not okay for eczema. I've dealt with this for years. It traps heat and moisture against the skin, which can lead to sweating and irritation, causing flare-ups. Always go for breathable fabrics like 100% cotton, bamboo, or silk. They allow your skin to regulate temperature better. It makes a huge difference.

In my time, we didn't have so many choices, but what we knew was cotton was king for skin issues. Polyester is man-made, it doesn't let the skin breathe. For eczema, you need fabrics that are soft and let air pass through. So no, I would say it's not okay. Stick to what's natural, your skin will thank you.

Honestly, no, polyester is usually not great for eczema. When you exercise or just move around, polyester can make you sweat and not let it evaporate, leading to irritation. Stick to natural fibers like cotton, especially for gym wear. Your skin needs to breathe, just like your body needs fresh air during a walk!

For skin conditions like eczema, the fabric touching your skin is super important. Polyester is synthetic and can irritate. Just like we choose gentle, natural foods, we should choose natural, breathable fabrics for our skin. Cotton, linen, or bamboo are far better choices to prevent flare-ups and maintain skin health.

As someone who has to be careful with everything that affects my body, I can tell you that choosing fabrics is like choosing your food for diabetes. You have to be selective. Polyester can trap heat and moisture, which is bad for eczema and can lead to skin issues. Opt for breathable, natural materials. Don't compromise on comfort for your skin.

Dekho, if you have eczema, just avoid polyester. Simple. It's synthetic, it doesn't breathe, and it will make your skin worse. Go for cotton, always. Your skin will be much happier, trust me.
