Is persimmon good for diabetes?

My husband has diabetes, and we are always looking for fruits that are safe for him. Someone told me that persimmon is good for diabetes, but it looks quite sweet. Can he actually eat it without his sugar levels shooting up?

Persimmons are a good source of fiber and vitamins. While they are a fruit and contain natural sugars, their fiber content can help in slower sugar absorption. Portion control is key though, like with any fruit for diabetics. Always consider the overall diet.

Beta, persimmon is a good fruit, full of goodness. For diabetes, I think small amount is okay. Like all fruits, it has its own sweetness. Just don't eat too much in one go. Everything in balance is good for health.

I had some complications earlier due to diet mismanagement. So I'd advise extreme caution. While persimmons might be generally good, for diabetes, every food can affect everyone differently. Please, please talk to your endocrinologist or a specialized dietician before adding or increasing any fruit in your diet.

Haan, these natural fruits always have some benefits. Persimmon has fiber, which is good for digestion and can help with blood sugar regulation in some ways. But remember, for proper diabetes management, please listen to your doctor and follow their diet plan first and foremost. Fruits are healthy but moderation is important.

As a diabetic, I've learned that even healthy fruits need to be consumed mindfully. Persimmons have natural sugars, so while they offer fiber, you need to be careful with portion sizes. It's best to consult your dietician who can tell you exactly how much and how often you can have it based on your blood sugar levels.

From what I've read about natural foods, persimmon does have a decent glycemic index and can be part of a diabetic diet in moderation. The fiber content is beneficial. But please, if you are diabetic, never replace your medication or doctor's advice with just fruits or home tips. Always check with your doctor.
