Is pcos linked to adhd?

My friend who has ADHD also has PCOS, and she thinks there might be a link between the two. Is there any research or medical understanding that PCOS is linked to ADHD? I'm curious if it's a common co-occurrence.

I've seen some articles in my health apps discussing potential links, especially regarding hormonal imbalances affecting brain function. But it's more about correlations and ongoing research, not a direct, established causation. Always good to monitor symptoms.

My daughter has PCOS, and we also started noticing ADHD symptoms. Her doctor mentioned that some studies suggest a higher prevalence of ADHD in women with PCOS, possibly due to hormonal influences. It's something to discuss with both a gynaecologist and a neurologist if you suspect it.

Oh great, as if managing PCOS wasn't enough, now I have to worry about ADHD too? My brain already feels like it has 50 tabs open. But seriously, I have heard some whispers about a link, probably hormonal. More chaos for us middle-aged folks!

While PCOS and ADHD are different conditions, there's growing research indicating a possible connection, perhaps through shared hormonal or inflammatory pathways. Just like with thyroid, it's crucial to get proper diagnosis for both and ensure regular follow-ups with specialists.

My family hasn't heard of such a direct link, but my doctor did mention that hormonal imbalances like those in PCOS can sometimes affect mood and focus. So, while it's not a direct cause, it's good to keep your doctor informed about all your symptoms.

YES! I literally just got diagnosed with ADHD after managing PCOS for years. My gynaecologist suggested I get evaluated for ADHD because she sees a lot of overlap. It's apparently more common than we think, maybe due to the hormonal rollercoaster. Getting treatment for both has been life-changing.

My cousin has PCOS and she also struggled with concentration and focus for a long time, eventually diagnosed with ADHD. I can't give medical advice, but based on her experience, there definitely seems to be some connection. Best to speak to a doctor.

I've seen some TikToks and articles about it, linking PCOS hormones to ADHD symptoms. My friend has PCOS and always struggles with focus, so it makes sense. Not sure if it's official, but definitely a topic people are talking about.

While research is ongoing, some studies do suggest a higher co-occurrence of ADHD in women with PCOS. It's not a definitive link yet, but if you have symptoms of both, you should definitely discuss it with specialists at a good hospital.

There's emerging research suggesting a correlation between PCOS and ADHD, with women with PCOS having a higher likelihood of ADHD symptoms. It's thought to be due to hormonal and neurotransmitter dysregulation. It's a complex area, so consult specialists.
