Is pcos insulin resistance?

My doctor said I have insulin resistance along with my PCOS, and it's a major factor. Is PCOS itself considered an insulin resistance disorder? Trying to understand this link better for my diet.

From my personal experience with PCOS, my doctor often talks about insulin resistance. So, for me, it definitely feels like a big part of it. I have to manage my sugar intake very carefully because of that.

Many women with PCOS have insulin resistance, yes. It's a common link. So, controlling sugar and eating balanced meals is very important, even more than just losing weight. Simple home-cooked food helps a lot.

While not everyone with PCOS has insulin resistance, it's a very common feature and a key driver for many symptoms. So focusing on managing insulin sensitivity through diet and exercise is often a core part of treatment. Your doctor will guide you.

For many, PCOS is very closely linked to insulin resistance, and not managing that can lead to complications like Type 2 diabetes. This is serious. Please, get tested and follow your doctor's advice diligently.

Yes, insulin resistance is a central feature of PCOS for a majority of women. It's not PCOS itself, but a major underlying mechanism. Addressing it through diet, exercise, and sometimes medication is crucial for managing PCOS symptoms effectively.
