Is oxycodone bad for the liver?

My father had a surgery recently and the doctor prescribed oxycodone for pain. He's worried because he already has a slightly compromised liver. Is oxycodone bad for the liver generally, or only in high doses?

Hey buddy, don't stress too much! If your doctor prescribed it for a short time after an injury, your liver can handle it perfectly fine. Just don't take extra doses on your own and you will be completely alright.

My son was prescribed a strong painkiller after his fracture surgery, and I was so scared for his liver health. The doctor explained that short-term use is totally fine, but we must never cross the limit. Just follow the exact schedule given by your specialist.

Look, simple baat hai. Oxycodone is a very strong drug and abusing it will definitely damage your liver and kidneys. If a doctor gave it, take it quietly as per the dose and stop when they tell you to. Don't play around with these medicines.

Achha, when I was on heavy painkillers, my stomach felt so weird that I couldn't even enjoy my favorite dhoklas! Strong meds do put pressure on the liver, so make sure you eat very light, non-oily food while taking them to keep your system happy.

I was on oxycodone for two weeks post-op and asked my doctor the same thing. He told me that liver issues usually happen if you have pre-existing liver damage or if you take it for months. Just stay hydrated and get a routine blood test done if you are still anxious.
