Is ovarian cancer rare?

My friend and I were talking about women's health issues, and ovarian cancer came up. I was wondering, is it considered a rare type of cancer, or is it something that many women encounter?

I am a bit hesitant to ask, but my doctor suggested an ultrasound because of some bloating, and I'm very nervous. Is ovarian cancer really rare, or is it something I should be deeply worried about? Any guidance would help me calm down.

I used to think such big diseases only happen to others and are very rare. But over the years, I've seen a couple of women in my circle deal with it. Home remedies are only for daily gas and acidity, so please get a proper medical scan if your stomach pain doesn't go away.

Hey there. It's actually not extremely rare, but it is also not as common as breast or cervical cancer in India. Most bloating or abdominal discomfort turns out to be simple cysts or gastric issues, so please don't jump to conclusions. Just get the recommended tests done so you can address whatever it is early.

My family had to deal with this when my mom got diagnosed last year. Honestly, it's not as rare as people think, especially in urban areas. The trick is catching it early, so if anyone has continuous stomach bloating, they should get an ultrasound instead of ignoring it.

Listen to me, don't let the word 'cancer' make you panic. While it's not a rare disease globally, the chances of your symptoms being caused by it are still quite low. Let's take it one step at a time, go get the doctor's checkup, and I'm sure you will be fine.

Hey, don't stress too much! Statistically, it's not super common, but it's always smart to be aware. Just get your regular checkups done and don't spend hours on Google reading scary articles, it only ruins your peace of mind!

My child, these serious illnesses are not very common, but we must not be careless. For general stomach issues, drinking warm cumin water helps, but we should never hide persistent discomfort. If you feel heavy in your abdomen for weeks, please go to a lady doctor and get checked properly.

Honestly, I only heard about this in my biology class recently and didn't think it was common at all. But apparently, it does affect quite a lot of women as they get older. It's kinda scary but good to know so we can keep our moms' health in check.

I agree with others, it is not very rare, ranking as the third most common gynecological cancer in India. If you have persistent symptoms like bloating, getting a clinical examination is the safest approach.

Don't listen to people online telling you it's rare or common based on their own experiences. The statistics don't matter to an individual; what matters is your specific body. Skip the internet forums, see a gynecologist, and get a proper diagnosis.
