Is olive oil good for fatty liver?

My father recently got diagnosed with fatty liver, and our family doctor suggested we look into healthier cooking oils. Someone mentioned olive oil is good, but I wanted to double-check if it actually helps with fatty liver specifically.

Clinical studies suggest that the monounsaturated fatty acids in olive oil can reduce liver fat accumulation. However, fatty liver management requires a comprehensive plan including weight loss and sugar reduction. Please consult a gastroenterologist for a proper grade-specific treatment plan.

I was recently told I have Grade 1 fatty liver and I am very scared. Is olive oil safe to use for normal Indian cooking like tadka, or should I only use it raw in salads? Please advise.

Do not ignore a fatty liver diagnosis as it can progress to cirrhosis over time. While olive oil is a healthier fat, you must get your liver function tests (LFT) and lipid profile checked first. Let a qualified doctor evaluate your reports.

I got my ultrasound report today showing fatty liver and I am so anxious. People say olive oil helps, but can we actually fry things in it? I am terrified of eating anything fatty now.

Don't worry, fatty liver is practically the national hobby for us foodies now! Swapping your heavy oil with olive oil is a great step. Just don't use it to deep-fry your samosas, okay?
