Is oatmeal bad for arthritis?

My knees have been bothering me a lot lately, probably arthritis. My neighbour told me to avoid certain foods, and I was wondering, is oatmeal bad for arthritis? I usually have it for breakfast.

My health app actually flags oats as a highly anti-inflammatory food because of its fiber and antioxidants. It should help reduce joint stiffness rather than making it worse. Just log your pain levels for a week after eating it to see if there is any personal sensitivity.

Actually, my mother was recently diagnosed with joint pain and someone told her to stop eating oats. I thought oats are anti-inflammatory and good for health? Does anyone here know if it actually causes more pain, or is it safe for her to continue?

My dad has severe arthritis and his doctor actually recommended oats because they help control weight. Less body weight means less stress on the knee joints. He eats it almost daily and has faced zero issues so far.

Unless you are planning to throw a heavy sack of oats on your feet, it is not going to hurt your arthritis! It is actually packed with good nutrients that fight inflammation. Go ahead and eat it without any stress.

I can only share what happened with me. My knee pain didn't increase at all when I switched to oats for breakfast. In fact, feeling lighter in my stomach actually made moving around a bit easier, but everyone's body reacts differently.

Honestly, my knees creak like old doors in the morning, and oats haven't made them any better or worse. But it is easy to cook when I am half-asleep, so I keep eating it. If it was bad for joints, I think my orthopedic doctor would have banned it by now.
