Is nyquil good for fever?

I've been down with a fever for the past two days and feeling really weak. My friend suggested taking NyQuil. Is NyQuil good for fever, and will it help me get some rest?

It has acetaminophen which brings down fever, but honestly, it just knocks you out completely. If you want to sleep for 12 hours straight and wake up groggy, go for it. But maybe just take a normal Crocin and sleep naturally.

Please don't use these heavy multi-symptom syrups to suppress a fever. I once ignored a high fever by just taking random cold medicines, and it turned out to be severe dengue that required hospitalization. If your fever is high, go get a blood test done immediately.

Don't worry too much, but don't rush to take heavy syrups like NyQuil either. It is meant for nighttime cold symptoms along with fever, not just a standalone fever. Just take plenty of rest, drink warm fluids, and consult a doctor if the temperature doesn't come down tomorrow.

I always get so scared when I get a fever. NyQuil has so many different active ingredients in it, which makes me super anxious about side effects. I feel it is much safer to just take plain paracetamol after checking the dosage with a doc.

Fever is just the body's natural way of fighting off an infection, so let the body heal peacefully. Take light meals like khichdi, drink warm tulsi water, and rest. If you need medicine, take a simple one prescribed by your doctor with a calm mind.

Why buy expensive fancy syrups when simple paracetamol from the local chemist works perfectly for fever? Just apply a wet cloth on your forehead to keep the temperature down and drink warm water. It is cheap, safe, and works every single time.

I had a bad fever and body ache last week. I thought about taking NyQuil but my doctor advised against it because of unnecessary extra ingredients. He just put me on regular paracetamol and plenty of ORS water, and I recovered in three days.

Bro, NyQuil will literally put you to sleep for the whole day. It does help with the fever because of paracetamol, but you won't be able to study or do anything. Better to just take a normal paracetamol pill so you can function.

I panicked last winter when my fever spiked and drank some leftover NyQuil, which made my heart race a bit. But my doctor later reassured me that a mild fever is normal and told me to just use basic paracetamol. It worked perfectly and there was no need to panic.

I completely understand how exhausting and scary it is to deal with a sudden fever. But please avoid taking complex multi-symptom syrups like NyQuil without professional advice. It can make you feel more dizzy, which might increase your anxiety.

Any fever requires a proper evaluation, especially if it persists beyond 48 hours or is accompanied by severe headache, rash, or breathing issues. Please do not self-prescribe NyQuil, as it contains multiple drugs. Seek a medical consultation first.

When I get a fever, I avoid heavy medicines that make me sluggish. I prefer letting my immune system work, staying hydrated, and doing very light stretching or a slow walk in my room if the doctor permits. It keeps the circulation going and helps recovery.
