Is numbness a sign of heart attack?

My mother complained of numbness in her arm last week, and she was really scared. Someone in the family said it could be a sign of a heart attack. Is this true, can numbness be a symptom?

Numbness, especially in the left arm, neck, or jaw, can indeed be a warning sign of cardiac distress. If your smartwatch or fitness band is also showing abnormal heart rate spikes or irregular rhythms alongside this, please don't ignore it and seek medical help immediately.

I didn't know numbness could be related to the heart. Does the numbness usually happen only on the left side of the body, or can it happen on both sides during an emergency?

Beta, while simple nerve compression can cause numbness, when it comes to the heart, we must never try home remedies like drinking warm water or massaging. If you feel numbness along with chest heaviness or sweating, go to the hospital immediately.

Numbness in the arm, shoulder, or jaw is a classic red flag symptom of a heart attack and must never be self-diagnosed online. Do not wait for any home remedy to work; go straight to the nearest emergency room or hospital for an ECG.
