Is non small cell lung cancer curable?

My neighbour was recently diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer, and we're all very worried for her. We keep hearing different things about whether it's curable or not. Just want to understand the general prognosis for this type of cancer.

My uncle was recently diagnosed with this and we are all very scared. Is it true that if it is detected in stage 1, surgery can cure it completely? If anyone has gone through this, please guide us on how to proceed.

Dealing with cancer is highly stressful, especially with the treatment costs. From what I have seen in my family, if it is caught in the early stages, it is highly treatable. The most practical thing is to get a second opinion from a good government oncology hospital like Tata Memorial to manage expenses.

I know reading about cancer on the internet can make you panic, but please don't stress too much right now. The cure rate depends heavily on the specific stage and genetic markers of the tumor. Let the doctors run their tests, they have amazing treatments these days to handle it.

Hey, my friend's dad had this diagnosed a couple of years back. It was a tough fight, but with immunotherapy, he is doing really well now and is back to work. Just keep positive vibes and trust the oncology team.

Cancer is a highly complex disease and we should never rely on general online information for treatment outcomes. Please ensure the patient gets all recommended scans and biopsies done immediately at a reputed cancer center. Regular medical follow-ups are the only safe way forward.

Non-small cell lung cancer curability depends entirely on the stage at diagnosis and molecular profiling. Early-stage localized tumors have a high cure rate with surgery and adjuvant therapy. It is absolutely essential to follow the advice of a qualified medical oncologist rather than self-interpreting statistics.
