Is nephrolithiasis kidney stones?

My father has been complaining about severe back pain and some other issues lately. The doctor said it might be 'nephrolithiasis'. I'm not familiar with that term. Is nephrolithiasis another way of saying kidney stones?

Haan ji, nephrolithiasis is just the big medical name for kidney stones. My brother had this and had severe back pain. Please drink plenty of water and show your reports to a local doctor so they can help you get relief quickly.

Yes beta, this is the doctor's word for kidney stones. Drinking barley water (jau ka paani) or fresh coconut water daily helps a lot in flushing out very small stones. But if the pain is too severe or there is blood in your urine, do not wait and see a doctor immediately.

Yes, nephrolithiasis is indeed the clinical term for renal calculi or kidney stones. Staying properly hydrated and practicing mild yoga postures can help support kidney health. However, for active stones and acute pain, a proper medical diagnosis and treatment plan are absolutely necessary.

Yes, it means kidney stones. Before going for expensive treatments, get a basic ultrasound done from a trusted lab to find out the exact size of the stone. If they are very small, they often pass naturally with just plenty of water and cheap oral medications from your doctor.

Yes, it is just a fancy name for kidney stones! When I had it, I had to temporarily cut down on my favorite high-oxalate foods like spinach and chocolate. Make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day to help flush them out, especially if you love spicy food like me.
