Is naproxen bad for your liver?

I sometimes take Naproxen for my period pain, but my mother warned me about taking too many medicines. I'm a little concerned about my liver since I heard some pain relievers can affect it. Is naproxen bad for your liver if taken regularly?

Naproxen is processed by the body, and like most painkillers, heavy use can affect both liver and kidneys. With my thyroid issues, I have to be extremely careful with medications. Please make sure to get regular blood tests and follow up with your doctor.

I didn't know that common painkillers like Naproxen could affect the liver. My doctor gave it to me for ankle pain. Does it cause issues even if we take it just for 3-4 days? Please let me know, I am a bit worried.

Naproxen is primarily metabolized by the liver, but liver damage is extremely rare unless there is an overdose or pre-existing cirrhosis. Just stick to the prescribed dose and never mix it with alcohol.

Any NSAID, including Naproxen, can have side effects if abused over a long period. For a normal, healthy adult, short-term use is fine. If you have chronic pain, consult a specialist rather than relying on daily painkillers.

I completely understand why you are worried about liver health; health anxiety is really tough. Naproxen is generally safe for short-term use if you don't have existing liver issues. Just speak to your doctor once to clear your mind, you will be fine!

Bro, if you are taking it once in a while for a headache or gym injury, it won't damage your liver. Just don't make it a daily habit. If you are really worried, just ask your doctor for a milder option.

From what I know, Naproxen is mostly tough on the stomach and kidneys, but in rare cases, it can affect the liver too. Especially if you have other metabolic issues like PCOS, it is best to avoid taking painkillers frequently without a doctor's green light.
