Is mozzarella good for diabetics?

My husband has been recently diagnosed with diabetes, and we're adjusting our family's diet. We use mozzarella cheese sometimes in pizza and other dishes. Is mozzarella generally considered good for diabetics, or should we restrict it?

As someone managing diabetes for ten years, yes, mozzarella is good because of its low glycemic index. Just make sure to pair it with fiber, like in a salad, to keep your digestion balanced.

My father always says home-made curds are best for diabetes, but our doctor told us mozzarella is also fine. It has very few carbs, so it won't raise your blood sugar, but keep the quantity moderate.

Good news! You don't have to break up with cheese completely. Mozzarella is super low-carb, so your blood sugar won't throw a tantrum, just don't eat the whole block!

Yes, it is a great low-carb snack for busy days. Just keep a check on your portion sizes because too much fat can indirectly affect insulin sensitivity over time.

My mom is diabetic and she eats mozzarella with her multigrain toast sometimes. It doesn't spike her sugar levels at all, so it's a very practical option for snacks.

While it is low in sugar, fresh home-made paneer is often a more natural option for our Indian bodies. If you choose mozzarella, make sure it is from a good brand and consult your doctor regularly.

I know how exhausting it is to constantly worry about what you can and cannot eat. Mozzarella is thankfully one of those safe foods that won't spike your sugar, so you can enjoy it without guilt.
