Is mozzarella cheese ok for diabetics?

My father has diabetes, and we are always careful about his diet. He likes cheese a lot, and we sometimes use mozzarella in our cooking. Is mozzarella cheese alright for someone with diabetes to eat, or should we avoid it?

My doctor at Manipal Hospital told me that while cheese is low in carbs, the saturated fat content can affect heart health over time. Please ask your consulting diabetologist for a customized diet plan.

Yes, mozzarella is actually a very good choice because it is low in carbohydrates and high in protein. Just make sure you eat it in moderation to manage your overall fat intake.

Yeah bro, it's totally fine. It has almost zero carbs so it won't spike your blood sugar. I eat it with my eggs in the morning and it keeps me full.

I log my meals on MyFitnessPal and mozzarella is great for keeping carbs low while hitting protein goals. It's a solid option for diabetic diets if you track the saturated fat.

Don't worry too much about having a little mozzarella, it won't ruin your sugar levels. Just pair it with some fresh vegetables and avoid processed bread to keep things safe.

I'm surviving on black coffee and no sleep, but as far as I know, cheese won't spike your sugar. Just don't eat a whole block of it at midnight like I want to!

Mozzarella cheese has a low glycemic index, so it is generally safe for diabetics. However, balancing fat and calorie intake is essential, so discussing it with your nutritionist is ideal.

I've been told it's fine, but I still get nervous about the fat content affecting my sugar numbers. Does anyone else get anxious checking their levels after eating cheese?

It is generally considered safe for insulin resistance because of the low carb count. I try to eat it with fiber-rich veggies, but still, keep check on how your body personally responds.

Yes, it is absolutely fine! My dad is diabetic and he loves mozzarella because it satisfies his cravings without pushing his sugar up. Just keep the portion sizes reasonable.
