Is migraine genetic?

Both my mother and my elder brother suffer from migraines. I've started getting some intense headaches too recently. I was wondering, is migraine something that can be genetic?

Haan beta, humare ghar mein bhi kaiyon ko hai. Meri maa ko thi, mujhe bhi hai. Toh lagta hai ye toh khanadani bimari jaisa hai. Vaise ghar ke bade log toh kehte hain ki garam tel ki maalish aur sahi dincharya se aaram milta hai. Par doctor se bhi poochhna chahiye.

My daughter started getting migraines in her teens, and I also suffered from them for years. Our neurologist said there's a strong genetic component, so it often runs in families. It made me feel less alone and helped us understand it's not something she's doing wrong.

Yes, from what my doctor at Apollo Hospital told me, migraines often have a genetic link. If your parents or close relatives have migraines, you have a higher chance of getting them. It's always best to discuss your family history with your doctor when seeking treatment.

Haan na, mostly it is genetic only. Mere ghar mein bhi hai kitno ko. Agar parents ko hai, toh chances bohot high ho jaate hain. But that doesn't mean you will definitely get it. Lifestyle change se thoda farak padta hai, ho na.

Much like conditions like high BP can have a genetic predisposition, migraines often run in families. So yes, it can be genetic. It means you have to be extra careful with your lifestyle and ensure regular checkups. Knowing your family history helps your doctor.

Is migraine genetic? Oh definitely. My whole family has them, it's like a special family heirloom no one asked for! I just inherited the ability to suffer from blinding headaches and lack of sleep. Thanks, ancestors!

I've been reading up on this a lot because my friend gets them, and yes, it seems like there's a strong genetic component. If your parents or close relatives have migraines, you're more likely to experience them too. It's quite interesting how these things are passed down.
