Is metformin used for pcos?

I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS and am looking into treatment options. My doctor mentioned Metformin, but I thought that was mainly for diabetes. Is Metformin commonly used for PCOS?

Haan, Metformin is very commonly prescribed for PCOS, especially if there's insulin resistance involved. It helps regulate periods and manage symptoms for many. But your doctor will decide if it's right for you after checking everything.

Oh, for PCOS, yes! Many of my friends with PCOS have been prescribed Metformin by their gynaecologists. It helps with regulating cycles and other symptoms. Definitely talk to your doctor about it and see if it's a good option for you.

Absolutely, Metformin is a standard treatment for PCOS, especially when insulin resistance is a factor. It helps regulate menstrual cycles and can improve fertility outcomes. Consult a good gynaecologist to see if it's suitable for your case.

PCOS? Ugh, another health thing to worry about. Yeah, I've heard Metformin is pretty common for it. My sister takes it. Honestly, I'm just tired and hoping for simple answers, but with health, it's never simple, is it? Just ask your doc, they have to know.

Yes, Metformin is a frequent prescription for PCOS, particularly to address insulin resistance, which is common with the condition. It can help regulate hormones. Get a proper diagnosis and prescription from your gynaecologist. That's the most efficient route.
