Is metformin good for pcos?

My friend with PCOS told me Metformin has really helped her. I also have PCOS and was wondering if Metformin is generally considered good for managing the condition?

It's totally normal to feel anxious when you're dealing with PCOS and new medications. I was also worried about my health issues. Metformin is commonly used for PCOS, but please talk to your doctor about all your concerns; they can guide you best and calm your mind.

For PCOS, many doctors do prescribe Metformin. But alongside, I found gentle yoga and pranayama really helped manage my symptoms, especially the stress part. Of course, always listen to your doctor first for the medication.

Metformin is generally an affordable medicine, which is a relief for ongoing conditions like PCOS. But definitely consult your gynecologist. They might ask for some initial tests, so budget for those too. Planning ahead helps manage the expenses.

I've been reading a lot about PCOS lately because a friend has it, and Metformin keeps coming up in research. It seems to be a common line of treatment, especially for insulin resistance. But yeah, still just researching, not a doc!

Haan beta, PCOS has become quite common these days. Many young women in our family have taken Metformin as part of their treatment. Just follow the doctor's instructions carefully, and don't miss your medicines. Things usually get better with time and proper care.

Having dealt with thyroid issues, I know how important regular check-ups are. If your doctor prescribes Metformin for PCOS, make sure you go for all follow-up appointments and get your blood work done as advised. It helps them adjust the dose if needed.

I can only share my experience, not medical advice. My sister takes Metformin for her PCOS and her doctor said it helps regulate her cycle and insulin resistance. But everyone's body is different, so what works for one might not be the same for another.
