Is meloxicam good for back pain?

I've had chronic back pain for a few months now, probably from sitting too much for work. My colleague told me her doctor prescribed Meloxicam for her back pain and it worked wonders. I'm wondering if it's a good option for my kind of back pain too.

Yes, it can be very good for back pain, especially if your pain has an inflammatory component. I had a really bad lower back spasm a few months ago, and my doctor prescribed meloxicam. It definitely helped reduce the swelling and eased the pain significantly. Make sure you get a proper diagnosis first.

My orthopedist explained that for certain types of back pain, especially those involving inflammation like sciatica or muscle strains, meloxicam (an NSAID) can be quite effective. It helps by reducing the swelling and pain. However, it's crucial to understand the cause of the back pain before starting any medication.

Back pain is so common and tough to deal with! From what I've heard and seen, meloxicam is often given for it, especially if there's inflammation. But everyone's body is different, so what works for one might not work for another. It's always best to get a doctor's opinion for your specific case, don't just self-medicate.
