Is meloxicam bad for your liver?

My uncle takes a lot of medicines for his various health issues, and sometimes I worry about their side effects. He was recently prescribed Meloxicam for his arthritis. Is Meloxicam known to be bad for the liver? I'm concerned about his overall health.

My sister's doctor told her that all strong medicines need to be taken with care, and liver function should be monitored especially with long-term use. Meloxicam, like other NSAIDs, can be hard on the liver or kidneys if not used properly. Always trust your doctor's advice and get regular checkups.

Well, beta, any medicine you take in excess or without proper guidance can be bad for organs. Meloxicam, if taken as prescribed by your doctor, usually doesn't cause severe liver issues in most people. But it's always good to be careful and follow the dosage. I've taken it before, no problems for me.

My rheumatologist explained that meloxicam, being an NSAID, can potentially affect the liver and kidneys, especially with prolonged use or in individuals with pre-existing conditions. That's why blood tests for liver function are often recommended periodically when on this medication. It's about careful monitoring, not outright 'bad'.

Oh, talking about liver makes me think of all the delicious biryani I shouldn't eat too much of! But seriously, about meloxicam, I've heard that if you take it for a long time, it's good to get your liver checked. Like, everything in moderation, even medicines, so you can enjoy your food later, haan?

Our body has a natural healing system, but medicines can be strong. Meloxicam, like many allopathic drugs, processes through the liver. While it helps with pain, it's wise to discuss any concerns about organ health with your doctor. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through yoga can also support liver function.

Yaar, actually, any medicine can have side effects, no? Meloxicam also, if you don't take it properly or for too long, it can stress your liver. My doc always says, don't self-medicate and always get your tests done if you're on long-term meds. Liver is important, bhai!
