Is mayo bad for diabetics?

I recently started making salads at home to eat healthier, and I use a lot of mayonnaise. My doctor mentioned watching my sugar intake because of a family history of diabetes. Is mayo bad for diabetics, or can it be part of a healthy diet?

Honestly, at this point, if it tastes good, I'm probably having it. But seriously, for diabetics, I think anything in moderation is key. And check with your doc, don't be like me and Google at 3 AM.

My son has diabetes, and we've been told to be very careful with mayo. It has a lot of oil and sometimes sugar. We mostly avoid it or use very little of the light variety. Better to check the labels properly.

Hey there! 👋 For diabetics, it's usually about the sugar and fat content. Some mayo brands can be high in both. Maybe look for light versions or make your own at home? Keep smiling! 😊

Please don't ignore these questions, like I once did with something else. For diabetes, diet is super important. It's always best to consult your doctor or a dietician about specific foods like mayo. Don't take chances.

Beti, for our sugar problems, we should avoid too much oily and processed food. Mayonnaise has too much tel and can increase your sugar. Try to eat fresh sabzi and roti. If you want something creamy, maybe dahi based things are better, but ask your doctor also.

It's a good question to ask. Many processed foods can affect blood sugar. Perhaps small amounts of a low-fat version, or better to find alternatives. Take care.

Mayo is tricky for diabetics. High fat, sometimes hidden sugar. Not a blanket no, but definitely needs to be consumed sparingly or swapped for a healthier alternative. Talk to your doc, they'll give you precise info.

I always worry about what I eat with my sugar levels. Is mayo one of those things that spikes it quickly? Has anyone here felt that after eating it? It's confusing to figure out.

As someone who's very mindful about diet, mayo is generally high in calories and fat, which isn't ideal for managing diabetes. There are eggless and healthier versions available, but checking ingredients for hidden sugars is crucial. Best to discuss with your dietician.

I was just looking this up online! From what I read, the main concern is the fat and calorie content, which can impact weight and insulin resistance. Some brands also add sugar. So yeah, generally not great for diabetics in large amounts.
