Is manuka honey good for eczema?

My son has eczema patches, and it gets really dry and itchy for him, especially in winter. Someone suggested applying Manuka honey on it. Is it actually helpful for eczema or just a home remedy with no real effect?

I track all my health stuff and once read that Manuka honey has some good antibacterial properties. Might help for skin inflammation. But for eczema, it's mostly topical application, not eating it. Check if there are specific medical grade ones for skin.

Oh, I totally panicked when my nephew had eczema flares! We tried so many things. Manuka honey was one, we applied it diluted. It seemed to soothe the skin a bit, but it wasn't a magic cure. Don't worry, just keep trying different things with your doctor's advice.

Look, Manuka honey can be good for general skin healing because of its antibacterial stuff. For eczema specifically, it might reduce irritation if it's raw and pure. But don't expect miracles. Use it along with your prescribed meds, not instead of them.

Manuka honey does have antiseptic properties, so theoretically it could help with eczema, especially if there's any infection from scratching. But it's not a primary treatment, more of a complementary thing. Always good to discuss with your dermatologist first, they know best what creams work.

My son used to have terrible eczema, it was heartbreaking. We tried a lot of natural things. Manuka honey, diluted and gently dabbed, sometimes helped with the redness and itch a little, especially overnight. But we always followed our pediatrician's advice for the main treatment. Just be gentle.
