Is malaria contagious?

My neighbor just recovered from malaria, and I wanted to be careful around her. Is malaria contagious? I'm just trying to understand how much social distance is needed.

Malaria is not contagious in the way that it spreads from person to person directly. It requires a mosquito as a carrier. Stay positive, keep your surroundings clean, and trust in the divine plan, while taking necessary precautions.

Dekho, malaria direct insaan se insaan ko nahi hota. Machhar se hota hai. Simple. So don't worry about catching it from a person, just focus on keeping mosquitoes away from your घर.

Correct, malaria is not contagious from person to person. It's spread by mosquito bites only. Use repellents.

No, it's not contagious at all! I was also wondering about this recently when I was reading up on it. Turns out it's only spread by mosquitoes. So you can't just catch it from someone else, which is good to know.

Contagious? If it was, with my luck, I'd probably catch it just by thinking about it. 😂 Thankfully, no. It needs a mosquito to play matchmaker. One less thing to keep me awake at night, thank god.

I used to think it was contagious when I was younger and would avoid people with fever! But then I learned it's not. It's a mosquito-borne illness. So you don't need to panic about catching it from a person. It's totally normal to have such doubts.
