Is maize flour good for diabetics?

My mother has recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and we are trying to change her diet. Someone suggested maize flour for rotis. Is maize flour good for diabetics, or should we stick to whole wheat?

Namaste ji. Humare gaon mein toh log makke ki roti bahut khate hain, par diabetes ke liye doctor se pooch lena chahiye. Sabka shareer alag hota hai na, toh wohi sahi salaah denge.

I totally get it, trying to figure out what's safe to eat with diabetes is so confusing! Maize flour has some good fiber but also carbs. It's really best to check with a dietician or your doctor for a personalized plan.

With high BP and my family history, I'm always careful about what I eat. For diabetics, understanding carb impact is crucial. Regular checkups with your doctor and a good nutritionist are the best way to know if maize flour suits YOUR body.

My grandmother used to say 'eat everything in limits'. For diabetes, though, it's not just limits but right choices. While family advice is good, please listen to your doctor first and foremost for specific diet plans.

Usually, whole grains are better. Maize flour can be okay in small amounts for some people. But remember, for proper diabetes management, especially if your sugars are high, you MUST consult a doctor. Home tips are for minor things only.

Beta, earlier we didn't have so many options. But now, with diabetes, it's about balance. Some say it's fine in moderation, some say avoid. Best to consult your doctor, they can guide you properly according to your sugar levels.
