Is magnesium good for kidney disease?

My brother has kidney disease, and we're looking into everything that can potentially help him. A family friend suggested magnesium. Is magnesium actually good for people with kidney disease, or could it be harmful?

As someone managing diabetes, I know how carefully we have to watch everything for kidney health. Magnesium is generally good, but with kidney disease, your body might not excrete excess magnesium properly, leading to dangerous levels. So, absolutely, speak to your nephrologist before even thinking about it.

Kidney disease is serious business, my friend! 😮 Magnesium is a super mineral, but with kidney issues, you need to be extra careful about dosage. Definitely talk to your doctor; they'll tell you what's safe and helpful! Stay positive! ✨

Beta, if someone has kidney disease, then even simple things can become complicated. Magnesium might be helpful for some, but for kidney patients, it needs to be checked by the specialist doctor. Do not take any chances, ask your doctor clearly.

For someone with kidney disease, even diet needs careful management, let alone supplements. While magnesium is found in many plant-based foods, its intake needs to be strictly monitored by a nephrologist. Too much can be detrimental. Please discuss this with your specialist.
