Is lychee good for diabetes?

My doctor recently told me I have pre-diabetes, and I'm trying to be very careful with my diet. I love lychee fruit, but I'm unsure about its sugar content. Is lychee good for people with diabetes, or should I avoid it?

Please be very careful with sweet fruits like lychee as they can cause sudden spikes in your blood glucose. It is always safest to consult your diabetologist or a registered dietician before adding seasonal fruits to your diet.

Ji, lychee mein mithaas zyada hoti hai toh sugar ke मरीज ko isse thoda door hi rehna chahiye. Agar mann kare toh ek-do daane kha lijiye, par dhyan rakhiyega aur apni sugar jaanch karate rahiye.

Lychee has a high sugar content, so it's not the best option for diabetics. If you do end up eating a couple of them, make sure to go for a brisk 20-minute walk afterwards to help manage any potential blood sugar spikes.

Honestly, no, lychees are packed with simple sugars and have a high glycemic load. If you are diabetic, stick to fruits like jamun or green apples instead. Skip the lychees unless your sugar is very well-controlled.

In my thirty years of dealing with diabetes, I have learned that portion control is everything. You don't have to completely stop enjoying seasonal lychees, just restrict yourself to 2 or 3 fruits in a day and monitor your levels.

My dad has type 2 diabetes and his doctor strictly told him to avoid eating a plate full of lychees because of the quick sugar spike. Maybe have just one or two if the cravings get bad, but definitely don't make it a regular snack.
