Is lower back pain a sign of kidney problem?

For a few weeks now, I've had this persistent ache in my lower back, and sometimes I feel a bit tired too. My sister-in-law said her friend had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a kidney issue. Could this back pain actually be a sign of a kidney problem?

At my age, every ache feels like some organ failing! But seriously, kidney pain is usually a bit higher up on the sides, near the lower ribs, not right at the bottom of your back. Still, drink your water and see a doctor if it doesn't settle.

I didn't know kidney pain could be confused with backache. Does kidney pain also hurt when you bend down, or is it a constant deep pain? I have some lower back tightness and now I'm a bit worried.

Keep yourself hydrated by drinking warm water and coconut water, it is very good for kidney health. But if you have fever, burning sensation while urinating, or severe sharp pain, don't rely on home remedies. Go straight to a clinic for a urine test.

If it is a kidney issue, you will usually see other markers like changes in urine color, frequency, or a mild fever. Muscle pain usually changes when you shift positions, whereas kidney pain is constant and deep. Track your daily water intake on an app and consult a doctor to be sure.

Stop reading scary symptoms online because Google will always link a simple backache to organ failure. Just book a routine ultrasound or a basic urine test if you are really worried. A doctor's report is the only thing you should trust.
