Is low-fat milk good for kidney patients?

My father has kidney issues, and we're always careful about his diet. We usually give him regular milk, but someone suggested low-fat milk. Is low-fat milk good for kidney patients, or should we stick to what we're doing?

Honestly, any kind of milk is high in phosphorus and potassium, which can be tough on weak kidneys. You need to strictly consult a nephrologist before adding milk to the diet.

I can barely manage my sleep schedule, let alone kidney diets, but I know kidney issues are very complex. Please don't rely on online advice for this, check directly with their doctor.

Hey, please be very careful with kidney patients. Milk contains high phosphorus which kidneys might struggle to filter. It is best to ask their treating doctor for a proper diet chart.

Kidney diets depend entirely on serum potassium and phosphorus levels. Get these blood tests done first from a budget lab, then show the reports to a doctor to get a customized diet.
