Is low blood sugar a sign of diabetes?

My doctor mentioned my blood sugar was a bit low during my last check-up, and now I'm thinking about diabetes. Could low blood sugar actually be a sign of developing diabetes, or is it something else?

Honestly, low blood sugar happens more when you are already taking diabetes medicines and miss a meal. If you aren't diabetic, it could just be because you stayed empty stomach for too long. Keep some glucose biscuits handy and track when it happens.

Please don't ignore this. I used to ignore my dizzy spells thinking it is normal weakness, but my blood sugar was dropping dangerously low. You should get an HbA1c test done and show it to a proper doctor soon.

Do you also get sudden sweating and shaky hands when this happens? I've been feeling like this lately in the afternoons and I'm really scared it might be diabetes. Has anyone else experienced this?

Beta, don't worry too much but do get your blood tested. In our days, if someone felt faint, we would give them a little warm water with jaggery or a banana. Try eating small meals at regular times so your body has constant energy.

Low sugar isn't always diabetes, sometimes it is just reactive hypoglycemia. But the only way to be 100 percent sure is a simple lab test. Go to a local lab tomorrow morning empty stomach and get it done, it's very cheap and simple.

I had this exact issue last month and was terrified of diabetes. Actually, my doctor told me it was just because of extreme dieting and skipping breakfast. I started eating properly and my sugar levels are absolutely fine now.
