Is liver in front or back?

I'm having some discomfort around my abdomen and trying to pinpoint where it might be coming from. A friend asked if it felt like my liver. Is the liver in the front or back of the body? Just trying to understand.

The liver is actually located in the upper right side of your abdomen, mostly in the front, protected by your ribs. However, if you are experiencing pain that radiates to your back, please do not ignore it. Go to a good hospital and get an ultrasound done to find the exact cause.

When I had liver swelling last year, I felt the heaviness mostly in the front on the right side, just under my ribcage. It didn't really feel like back pain, but it was a dull, constant ache. That was just my experience, so it is always better to get checked by a professional.

It is definitely in the front on your right side, thankfully not in the back, otherwise scratching your back would be a medical emergency! Jokes aside, if you are feeling pain back there, it might just be a muscle pull from sitting wrong all day.

The liver is situated in the front, on the upper right side of your stomach area. Sometimes, if there is inflammation, the discomfort can feel like it is traveling to the back, which can be super confusing. Keep tracking where exactly you feel the pain and mention it to your doctor.

The liver lies in the front, safe behind your right ribs, but in my experience, severe liver issues or gallstones can sometimes cause a shooting pain in the right shoulder blade or back. Don't worry, just consult a family doctor who can check it with a simple physical touch.

Anatomically, the liver is in the upper right quadrant of the abdominal cavity, directly beneath the diaphragm, so it's in the front. If you are trying to understand your anatomy for gym posture or core training, remember it is well-protected by the rib cage. If there is pain, consult a physician.
