Is liver cancer genetic?

My family has a history of certain cancers, and I'm always concerned about my own health. I was wondering if liver cancer is something that can be passed down through genes?

Haan, thoda bahut connection ho sakta hai agar family history ho toh. Par har baar aisa nahi hota na. Zyada tar cases lifestyle, alcohol ya hepatitis infection ki wajah se hote hain. Aap safe rehne ke liye doctor se baat kar lo.

Don't blindly believe articles online saying it's purely genetic or that some home juice can prevent it. Genetic factors play a minor role, but conditions like chronic Hepatitis B/C or cirrhosis are the main causes. Only trust what an oncologist tells you.

I totally get it, worrying about family history and genetics can be incredibly stressful. While some rare genetic conditions can increase the risk, most liver cancers are linked to other factors like lifestyle or hepatitis. Try not to stress too much and speak to a specialist to ease your mind.

Actually, my bio professor mentioned that most liver cancers aren't directly inherited from parents. It's usually caused by long-term liver damage like fatty liver or hepatitis. So genetics is just one small part of it.

I was researching this recently because of a project. It turns out that inherited metabolic disorders can sometimes increase liver cancer risk, but it's not directly passed down like hair color. Mostly, it is acquired due to environmental or lifestyle factors.
