Is liquid iv good for kidney stones?

I've been having recurrent kidney stones, and my doctor emphasized staying well-hydrated. I saw Liquid IV at the store and wondered if it could help. Is Liquid IV good for kidney stones, or should I stick to plain water?

While staying hydrated is the most important thing for preventing kidney stones, Liquid IV has high sodium content. Too much sodium can actually increase calcium in your urine, which might lead to more stones. Plain water is honestly your best bet.

I suffered from kidney stones twice in my 40s. The doctors always told me that nothing beats drinking 3-4 liters of plain, clean water daily. These fancy mineral packets are not necessary and might have too much salt for your kidneys.

Hydration is key to flushing out stones, but the type of stone you have matters. Since Liquid IV contains a lot of sodium, it could be counterproductive for calcium oxalate stones. It is highly recommended to consult a urologist before using it regularly.

Don't trust these online hydration trends blindly for serious issues like kidney stones. High sodium intake is a known risk factor for stones, and Liquid IV is loaded with it. Get your kidney function checked by a doctor first.

Honestly, plain water and fresh lemon juice are much better and safer for kidney stones than processed electrolyte packets.

My roommate had a kidney stone last year and she was drinking lots of barley water and plain water. She tried Liquid IV once but felt it was too salty. It is safer to stick to natural fluids to clear those stones.
