Is lexapro hard on the liver?

I've been prescribed Lexapro for depression, and I'm about to start taking it. My cousin mentioned that some medications can be quite hard on the liver, so I wanted to check if Lexapro falls into that category.

I have been on Lexapro for a year now and was worried about the same thing. I got my liver tests done last month and everything came out absolutely normal. It is actually very safe for the liver.

I am always cautious about how medicines affect my system because of my PCOS. Lexapro is generally considered very gentle on the liver, but it is always safer to double-check with your psychiatrist just to be sure.

For long-term medications like Lexapro, routine checkups are always a good practice. I do basic blood tests for my BP and liver health twice a year. Usually, this medicine doesn't cause liver issues, but keeping a healthy lifestyle helps.

No, it's not known to cause liver strain. To keep your overall body functioning well, try adding a brisk 30-minute walk daily. Regular physical activity keeps your liver and metabolism in top shape anyway.

No, Lexapro is generally not considered hard on the liver at all. You can be relaxed about it.

At my age, I have seen many family members take antidepressants without any liver complications. It is a well-tested medicine. Just trust your doctor's advice and take it with peace of mind.

Honestly, as long as you aren't washing down your Lexapro with heavy alcoholic drinks and greasy chakhna daily, your liver will be perfectly fine. It's a very standard medicine, so don't sweat it too much.
