Is kombucha bad for diabetics?

I have diabetes and my friend offered me some kombucha, saying it's good for gut health. But I'm worried about the sugar content. Is kombucha bad for diabetics?

I always get super worried checking food labels because even healthy-looking drinks can have hidden sugar. Kombucha is fermented, but some brands add a lot of fruit juice or sugar later for taste. If your sugar levels fluctuate easily, please be very careful and read the nutrition label back to back.

It really depends on the sugar content in that specific bottle, so check the label first. If your doctor allows you to have it, maybe pair it with a light active session. I usually find that a brisk 20-minute walk after having any fermented drink helps me manage my post-meal spikes much better.

I got so scared when my father drank half a bottle of kombucha at a family party, thinking his sugar would touch 300. But we monitored him and his levels were actually quite stable since it was a low-sugar homebrewed one. Don't panic, just check the sugar grams on the back and keep track of his readings.

Bhai, look, this kombucha is some foreign tea drink and it can have quite a bit of sugar to make it sweet. For diabetes, our home-made buttermilk or simple nimbu paani without sugar is the best and safest. It is better not to spend too much money on these fancy drinks which might harm your health.

Haan na, buying these drinks is so tricky because they market them as fully healthy. Actually, many brands use a lot of sugar for the fermentation process. It's better to consult your specialist doc once before experimenting, ho na?
