Is kidney part of endocrine system?

I was reading about hormones and body functions, and it made me wonder about the kidneys' role. Is the kidney considered a part of the endocrine system, which deals with hormones? What exactly does it do in that regard?

Yes, actually! When my son was diagnosed with a chronic kidney condition, the doctor explained that kidneys produce hormones like erythropoietin, so they do play a role in the endocrine system alongside the urinary system. It is amazing how connected our bodies are.

While they are mainly urinary organs, they do secrete hormones. If you are tracking hormone-related kidney issues, make sure to plan your budget for specific blood tests like renin or EPO, as they can be slightly more expensive than basic kidney tests.

It is true that kidneys secrete hormones, but home remedies like herbal teas won't help if there is a hormonal imbalance related to them. Please stick to a doctor's advice and get proper blood reports done to see if everything is functioning right.

Yes, kidneys actually produce important hormones like renin and vitamin D, so they are considered part of the endocrine functions too. It is a very complex but vital organ.

Indeed, kidneys possess endocrine properties as they release vital hormones that maintain balance in the body. Gentle yoga twists and deep pranayama can help stimulate healthy blood flow to these regions, supporting their overall function beautifully.

Hey, don't sweat the complex medical terminology too much. Yes, kidneys do release hormones that help control blood pressure and red blood cells, making them part of both systems. Just focus on eating healthy and keeping active, and leave the biology to the doctors.

They do have endocrine functions, but if you are asking because you feel something is off with your hormones or blood pressure, please do not ignore it. I delayed getting checked for high BP and it hurt my kidneys. Go get a proper clinical checkup done.
