Is kidney pain dull or sharp?

I've been experiencing some discomfort in my lower back lately, and I'm trying to figure out if it's kidney pain or something else. Is kidney pain usually a dull ache, or is it more often a sharp, stabbing sensation? Thoda confused hoon.

Well, if it is a kidney stone, it is a sharp, agonizing pain that will make you want to cry at 3 AM. If it is an infection, it is usually a steady, dull ache that just refuses to leave you alone. Either way, it is a great excuse to lose sleep!

Bro, it totally depends on what is happening inside. My roommate had a stone and he was literally screaming from sharp, intense pain, but when I had a mild infection, it was just a dull, annoying ache. Best to get an ultrasound done to be sure.

Haan, ye dono ho sakta hai. Agar pathri hai toh achanak se bohot sharp dard uthta hai jo peeth se aage aata hai, aur infection mein ek meetha-meetha dull dard bana rehta hai, na? Doctor se check karwa lo sabse sahi rahega.

Whether the pain is sharp or dull, the most practical first step is to get a USG abdomen and a simple urine routine test. It costs very little and gives a clear picture so you don't waste money on wrong medicines. Take care and act wisely.

It can be both; a dull ache often points to an infection, while a sharp, severe pain usually means a stone is moving. Please don't suffer through either of them, and consult a doctor soon for relief.
