Is kidney pain constant?

For the past few days, I've been feeling a dull ache in my back, and I'm worried it might be related to my kidneys. I wanted to ask if kidney pain is typically constant or if it comes and goes. Should I be concerned if it's always there?

My kidney stone pain was definitely not constant—it would disappear, make me feel like a champion, and then strike back at 4 AM to remind me who is boss. It actually comes in waves, which is just a cruel way of keeping you awake all night.

It is so exhausting and mentally draining to deal with back aches when you don't know the cause. When I had a kidney infection, the pain was indeed a constant, dull, heavy ache that wouldn't let me sit or lie down peacefully. It is absolutely okay to feel scared and overwhelmed, but please get it checked.

Haan, agar pathri ka dard hai toh wo ruk-ruk ke aata hai aur bahut tej hota hai, par agar koi kidney infection hai toh wo dard constant bana rehta hai peeth mein. Aapko thoda dhyan dena chahiye ki dard kaisa hai, na?

I am not very familiar with this, but I have a mild backache today. Does kidney pain usually get worse after drinking water, or is it unrelated? I would appreciate if someone could guide me on this.

In my experience, muscle pain can be relieved with gentle stretching and pranayama, but true kidney pain from an infection remains constant and deep. If the ache does not change with movement or deep breathing, it is likely organic. Please consult a doctor and keep your body well hydrated.
