Is kidney disease painful?

My colleague has been taking a lot of leaves recently because of severe pain related to his kidney condition. It sounds really difficult for him. Is kidney disease painful, or is it more of a silent illness for most people?

Beta, most chronic kidney diseases actually do not cause any pain in the early stages, which is why it is called a silent disease. Pain usually happens only if there are kidney stones or a severe infection. Keep getting regular blood checkups.

Oh, this is what scares me the most! I always worry that some mild back pain might be my kidneys failing. If you are feeling any sharp or sudden pain, please go to a doctor immediately to be safe. Sending you good wishes!

For mild back stiffness, a warm compress and drinking enough water helps, but if you have actual burning urination or sharp kidney area pain, go to a clinic. Don't try home remedies if the pain is severe or accompanied by fever.

Usually, kidney disease doesn't hurt unless there is a stone issue. Eating a balanced diet with controlled oxalate and sodium can prevent painful stones. Focus on clean, home-cooked food and keep your hydration levels steady.

Most kidney diseases progress silently without any physical pain. If you are experiencing back or side pain, it could be muscular or related to stones, rather than chronic kidney disease itself. A proper medical evaluation is highly recommended.

Generally, kidney disease itself doesn't cause pain unless you have an infection or kidney stones.

When my son had a kidney infection, he had a very high fever and sharp pain in his back. It was scary, but once the doctor started antibiotics, the pain stopped. Keep a close watch and don't ignore any sudden pain.
