Is it possible to sweat out a fever?

My mother always tells me to 'sweat out' a fever by covering up with blankets. Does this actually help, or is it just an old wives' tale? I feel like it makes me feel worse sometimes.

Honestly, I just had a fever last week, and my doc told me sweating is just your body trying to cool down, not 'sweating out' the actual infection. You feel better because the fever is breaking, not just because of the sweat. Stay hydrated, that's key.

Bhai, sweating happens when your fever is coming down, it doesn't 'cure' the fever. You need rest and fluids for that. Don't try to make yourself sweat more, just take care of yourself, okay?

Oh, if only it were that simple! Then I'd just eat some spicy biryani and sweat it all out, haha. But no, sweating is just a symptom of your body adjusting its temperature. Focus on light, comforting foods and plenty of liquids instead of trying to force a sweat.

Sweating is a natural bodily response when the fever starts to subside, indicating the body is cooling down. It's not about 'sweating out' the sickness, but rather a sign that your body's healing process is working. Gentle breathing exercises and adequate rest are more beneficial for recovery.

Haha, if only we could just hit the gym and sweat out all our illnesses! Sweating is more like a cooling mechanism, not an exorcism of the fever. Your body fights the infection, and then the fever breaks, and that's when you sweat. So it's a good sign, but not the cure itself!
