Is it possible to have strep without a fever?

Been having a sore throat and difficulty swallowing, but no fever. My friend said it could still be strep, which sounds a bit strange to me. Is it possible to have strep without running a fever?

My daughter had strep last year and her only symptom was a really sore throat and feeling tired. No fever at all. Our pediatrician said it's quite common, especially in kids, for fever to be absent. So, best to get tested if you're worried.

Absolutely, it's very possible. I've had strep a couple of times, and once, my fever was barely there, just a terrible sore throat. The key is to look for other symptoms like red spots on the roof of your mouth, swollen tonsils, or difficulty swallowing. Get a rapid strep test done if you suspect it.

Haan yaar, totally. My friend had strep last month, and actually, he just had a super bad throat, no fever. Hum sab ko laga viral hai but doc ne bola strep hai. So, don't just rely on fever, baaki symptoms bhi dekho.

Yes, definitely! Even my health app articles mention that strep can present without a fever. It tracks other symptoms like sore throat intensity. So if you have other symptoms, don't wait for a fever, consult a doc. It's better to be proactive with health data.

Oh, bilkul. I remember one time my throat was killing me, no fever, just pain. Tried ginger tea, gargling with salt water, everything. But it turned out to be strep and needed antibiotics. So, while home remedies help with comfort, for diagnosis, a doctor is a must.
