Is it possible to get asthma later in life?

My father recently started having shortness of breath and coughing, and the doctor said it might be asthma. He's over 60, and never had such issues before. Can asthma just start for the first time when you're older?

Definitely. Adult-onset asthma is quite common. I know a colleague who developed it in his late 30s. Don't ignore persistent coughs or shortness of breath. Best to see a pulmonologist and get a proper diagnosis quickly so you can manage it without disrupting your work or life much.

Yes, it is certainly possible to develop asthma as an adult, often triggered by environmental factors, allergies, or even viral infections. It's not exclusive to childhood. For accurate diagnosis and management, consulting a doctor is the most prudent step.

Yeah, bro, it can totally happen. I've seen people in my fitness groups talk about it, getting diagnosed in their 30s or 40s. If you're tracking your health metrics and notice anything off with your breathing or stamina, don't just rely on apps. Get it checked by a specialist.

Is it possible? My body feels like it's developing new ailments every week with this sleep schedule! But jokes aside, yes, adult-onset asthma is a thing. If you're feeling short of breath, please don't be like me and ignore it. Go to a doc, before it gets worse.
