Is it ok to sweat out a fever?

My grandmother always tells me to 'sweat out' a fever by covering myself with blankets. I've had a mild fever for two days now and feel quite warm. Does sweating really help, or is it just an old wives' tale?

Honestly, ghar pe hum log bhi yahi karte the bachpan mein, kambal odh ke paseena nikalte the. But doc kehte hain it's better to cool down gradually, not make it worse. Thande paani ki patti rakho mathhe pe, that helps a lot without overheating.

Dekho bhai, purane log bohot kuch bolte hain. Lekin science bolti hai ki body ko cool rakho fever mein. Jyada garmi se problem ho sakti hai. Thande kapde pehno aur paani peete raho, bas itna hi kaafi hai.

Oh, I totally get why this question comes up. For years, I believed it was the only way to get better, and felt like a failure if I couldn't sweat enough. It's tough when traditional beliefs clash with modern advice. Just be kind to your body while you're sick.

See, for fevers, it's always best to follow what the doctor at a good hospital suggests. My family doc always says don't try to sweat it out; instead, focus on bringing the temperature down slowly with paracetamol and light clothes. Too much heat can be risky.

Haha, I swear my dadi tried to turn me into a human sauna every time I got sick! But honestly, sweating like that just makes me feel like a melted candle. Better to just take a paracetamol and chill, literally!

Bro, my mom always makes me do this! But then I feel super tired afterwards. My friend told me ki it's not actually good, body ko overheat nahi karna chahiye. So maybe listen to docs on this one.

Oh, I actually researched this recently because my mom always makes me bundle up! Apparently, it's a myth. Sweating a lot can actually dehydrate you more, and it doesn't really 'cure' the fever. Just makes you feel gross, mostly.

Beta, hamare zamane mein toh yahi karte the, garmi deke bukhar nikalte the. Par ab docs bolte hain ki sharir ko zyada takleef nahi deni chahiye. Simple dawa aur aaram se thanda rakhna behtar hai. Take care of yourself.

Waheguru bless you with good health. When fever comes, body needs rest and gentle care. Rather than forcing the body to sweat, focus on peace, hydration, and light food. Listen to your inner self and trust that recovery will come.

It's totally understandable why you'd ask, so many people believe this! I used to get so anxious when I had a fever, thinking I had to sweat it out. But apparently, it can sometimes raise your body temp even more which isn't ideal. Just try to stay comfortable.
