Is it ok to get hepatitis b vaccine twice?

I think I got the Hepatitis B vaccine as a child, but now my company is asking for proof and I can't find it. The doctor suggested getting it again just to be safe. Is it okay to get hepatitis B vaccine twice?

My doctor explained that if you've already completed the full primary series and receive an additional dose (e.g., due to travel requirements or uncertainty), it's generally not harmful. It acts as an extra booster. However, getting it done *again* if you already have immunity is unnecessary. Best to check your antibody levels if unsure.

If it was a mistake or for a booster, your doctor would know best. Usually, it's not a major issue.

Amma always says, vaccine is for good health. If you are worried about getting it twice, please check with your doctor. They know your history best and can advise if it's okay or if you need to do anything specific. Don't stress too much, doctor will guide you.

If you've received the Hepatitis B vaccine twice, particularly if it was a full course and then a booster, it's generally not a cause for alarm. Often, healthcare workers or individuals with exposure risks get boosters. However, for precise guidance and to assess your immunity, consulting a physician is the best course of action.

A few years back, I wasn't sure if I had completed my full Hep B course, so my doctor suggested getting a booster after checking my levels. It's totally fine to get it if needed, sometimes it even ensures better protection. Just talk to your doctor, they'll guide you best.

Don't worry too much about it. Sometimes people get revaccinated if their antibody levels drop, or if there's confusion about their vaccination history. It's not usually harmful to get an extra dose. Just inform your doctor about it.
