Is it ok for newborns to sleep on their stomach?

My wife's friend told her that we should let our newborn sleep on his stomach because it helps with gas. But I always thought babies should sleep on their back. Is it safe for newborns to sleep on their stomach?

Generally, for newborns, doctors advise against sleeping on the stomach because of the risk. While some home remedies might suggest tummy time when awake, for sleep, it's better to follow what doctors say for safety. Always prioritize a doctor's advice for such crucial things.

Hey, it's really important for newborns to sleep on their backs. This is the safest position and helps prevent something called SIDS. Don't worry, just always make sure they're on their back when you put them down to sleep.

Big NO. All major health organizations worldwide recommend 'back to sleep' for infants. Sleeping on the stomach increases the risk of SIDS significantly. Seriously, don't do it.

Listen to me, don't take any chances with a baby's sleep position. I once ignored some advice for myself and regretted it. For newborns, it's strictly back to sleep. Please talk to your child's doctor if you're unsure.
