Is it normal to have fever for 5 days?

Been dealing with this fever for five days now, with a cough and cold. The doctor gave me some antibiotics, but it's still persisting. Is it normal for a fever to last for 5 days? Feeling quite weak.

A fever lasting five days is not something to ignore, as it exceeds the typical duration of a simple cold. It could indicate a bacterial infection or a specific viral strain. Consulting a doctor for a blood test is highly recommended.

In our family, we use wet cloth compresses on the forehead to keep the temperature down. But five days is a long time, beta. You must not rely only on home tips now; go see a proper doctor immediately.

Oh dear, five days is quite a long time to feel so sick! Please take complete rest and drink lots of coconut water. Don't worry, just consult your doctor and you will be back on your feet soon.

I completely panicked when my fever hit the fifth day, but my doctor reassured me that some viral strains just take a week to clear. Don't lose peace of mind, but do consult your doctor to be safe.

When my husband had a fever for five days, we took him to our family hospital. The doctors ran some tests and diagnosed him properly. I suggest you consult your doctor clearly instead of waiting any further.

I faced a similar five-day fever last season. The key is to keep taking your prescribed medicines on time, drink plenty of fluids, and rest. Most importantly, get your blood tested as advised by your physician.

I literally just recovered from a five-day fever yesterday. It turned out to be dengue, and getting early medical advice saved me from severe complications. Please visit a doctor and get your blood count checked.

I remember feeling so helpless and physically drained when my fever wouldn't break after five days. It really affects your mental state. Please know it is okay to feel overwhelmed, but do see a doctor for help.

At our pharmacy, we see many people coming for paracetamol even on the fifth day of fever. This is not advisable. You need a proper diagnosis and potentially antibiotics or antivirals from a doctor now.

Please get it checked immediately. I once ignored a five-day fever thinking it would go away, and it turned out to be severe typhoid that required a long hospital stay. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Stop waiting around and self-medicating. A five-day fever requires proper clinical evaluation and blood tests to rule out infections. Book an appointment with a general physician today.
