Is it illegal to sleep in your car?

I'm going on a road trip with my friends, and we're planning to sometimes sleep in the car to save money. Someone warned us it might be illegal. Is it illegal to sleep in your car in India generally?

Actually yaar, there is no single rule for this. It mostly depends on the local city laws and where you park. Some places have strict anti-vagrancy laws, so it's always safer to check local signs first.

In many cities, local ordinances restrict sleeping in vehicles. As someone managing diabetes, I must also say that sleeping in a cramped car can disrupt your sleep cycle and mess with your morning blood sugar levels. Always look for a safe, comfortable spot to rest properly.

In my younger days of traveling, we often rested in the car during long drives. Usually, it's not illegal unless there is a specific 'No Overnight Parking' sign. Just park in a well-lit, safe area to avoid any unnecessary hassle from local authorities.

I panicked so much when my husband had to sleep in our car during a road trip emergency, thinking the police would arrest him. It turns out it's mostly fine as long as you aren't on private property or violating local city codes. Just check the local signs and you'll be totally okay.

It depends a lot on the city and the specific parking spot you choose. Sleeping in a car can also cause body stiffness and backaches. If you have to do it, drink some warm water before resting and keep a proper pillow to support your neck.

It isn't illegal at a national level, but many local municipalities have strict rules against it. Please be safe and park in designated areas like 24-hour rest stops or Walmart parking lots if you ever have to do this. Your safety is what matters most.
