Is it common to get a fever after flu shot?

I got my flu shot yesterday and today I feel a bit feverish and achy. Is it normal to get a slight fever after a flu shot, or should I be worried?

Yes, a mild fever after the injection is very common. Just do normal cold water sponging on your forehead and rest. There is no need to panic, it usually goes away on its own within a day or two.

It is very common, ho na. My son also got a mild fever last month after his flu vaccine. We just gave him paracetamol as the doctor told us, and he was absolutely fine by the next morning.

Yes, beta, a mild fever is just the body building its immunity. Drink plenty of warm water, and you can have a cup of light ginger-tulsi tea to feel better. Don't worry, it is a very natural reaction.

I got my flu shot last Thursday and had a mild fever and body ache the next day. I just stayed in bed, drank coconut water, and was back to normal by Saturday. It is totally normal, so don't stress.

In all my years of getting yearly vaccines, a mild fever has always been a common thing. It is just your body showing that the medicine is working. Sleep well and don't worry about it.

I totally get it, waking up with a fever after getting a shot to prevent flu feels so frustrating. But please reassure yourself that this is just a temporary immune response. It will pass very soon.

Yes, it is common. When I got my flu shot, my PCOS fatigue made the fever feel a bit more draining, so I made sure to take complete rest. Be gentle with your body and don't push yourself today.

When I got my shot at Kokilaben Hospital, the doctor clearly told me to expect a mild fever. It is a standard immune response. If the fever crosses 101 or lasts more than three days, you should ask your doctor clearly for advice.

Getting a post-vaccine fever is the perfect excuse to sit in bed and eat warm soup or piping hot dal khichdi! It is super common, so just enjoy some comfort food and let your body rest.

Hey, don't worry, a mild fever after the flu shot is just your body's way of learning to fight the virus. Keep yourself hydrated, eat some simple khichdi, and rest. You are going to be absolutely fine.

While fever is a common side effect, don't trust random online tips to cure it. If your temperature goes too high, verify with your doctor or pharmacist about the correct dosage of paracetamol instead of trying home remedies.

I literally just went through this last week. Had a 99-degree fever and arm pain after my flu shot. I took a basic paracetamol as my doctor advised, slept for 8 hours, and woke up fresh the next day.

Yes, a mild fever is quite typical after the shot and usually goes away in 24 to 48 hours. Take care and get plenty of rest.
