Is it better to sleep on right or left side?

My grandmother always said sleeping on your left side is good for your heart, but my physio suggested sleeping on my right for my shoulder pain. Is one side generally better to sleep on, or does it depend on the person?

For digestion, many people find sleeping on the left side helps a lot. If you keep slipping back to your back, just place a thick pillow behind you to block the turn. It is a simple, no-cost way to train your body to stay on one side.

After a heavy dinner of butter chicken and garlic naan, sleeping on the left side is my absolute lifesaver. If I sleep on the right, the acidity kicks in and ruins my night completely. Definitely try the left side if you love late-night snacking like me!

I know how frustrating it is when you are trying so hard to sleep on one side and end up waking up sore and stressed. It feels like you are doing everything wrong, but please don't be hard on yourself. Your body will slowly adapt, just give it some time.

When I had severe acid reflux, I visited Manipal Hospital and my doctor clearly explained why the left side is better anatomically. But they also said if you have any heart issues, the right side might be preferred. It is always best to ask your doctor clearly about what fits your health profile.

Left side sleeping is the winner for me! 🌟 It really helps with digestion and keeping the bloating away. Just tuck a soft pillow between your knees and you will sleep like a happy baby till morning! 😊

Look, don't overcomplicate this. Left side is generally better for your stomach and heart, that is basic science. Just lie down on your left, put a pillow for comfort, and close your eyes. No need to overthink it every single night.
