Is it bad to sleep with the tv on?

My husband has a habit of falling asleep with the TV on every night. I'm worried it affects his sleep quality and overall health. Is it really bad to sleep with the TV on?

My fitness tracker showed a significant drop in my deep sleep and REM cycles on nights I slept with the TV on. The flickering light and sudden volume changes keep your brain stimulated even if you are asleep. Try using a sleep timer so it shuts off within 30 minutes.

I totally understand why you do it; sometimes the silence at night feels too heavy and the TV sound acts like a comforting presence. But I found myself waking up with headaches and feeling emotionally drained. Swapping the TV for a soothing audio book on a timer really helped me heal my sleep.

Beta, sleeping with such noisy screens on is not good for your peace of mind. In our times, we quieted our minds by reading a good book or listening to soft chanting before sleeping. If you cannot sleep, try drinking a cup of warm milk with a little cardamom instead of turning on the TV.

I used to fall asleep to sitcoms every night, but I always woke up feeling tired. Now I strictly keep the TV out of my bedroom. It took a few days to get used to the quiet, but my sleep quality has improved so much.

I can only share what happened with me, but sleeping with the TV on always gave me very weird, vivid dreams. My eyes also felt super dry in the morning due to the blue light. Now I make it a point to switch it off before I close my eyes.
